Skylab Movie Review: Satya Dev, Nithya Menen and  Rahul Ramakrishna starrer Skylab has hit the theaters today on 4th December. Let’s see the story of Skylab.

Story: The film is set  in the 1970s, in a village Banda Lingampally and the theme is what happened in Bandalingampally hamlet during the Skylab crash scare. Gauri (Nitya Menon) is a journalist  and she gets a last chance to prove herself.  Anand (Satyadev) is a  physician, who wants to make big in a village. How Gauri and Anand get affected due to this news of Skylab crash, form the basic story of the film.

Plus Points:

  • Story
  • Nithya Menen
  • BGM

Minus Points:

  • No emotional connection
  • Editing
  • Dull narration
  • Slow pace

Performance: Nithya Menen, as a daughter of a rich landlord,  delivers superb performance.  She looks cute on the screen.  Satyadev in the role of a greedy doctor, does a good job.  The lady who essayed the grandmother of Rahul Ramakrishna is  impressive. Rahul Ramakrishna has provided some comic relief. Tanikella Bharani,  Tulasi and others are ok..

Technical: The storyline of the film Skylab is unique. Background music by Prashanth R Vihari in well with visuals and carries forward the story. Cinematography work is breath-taking. The visuals and frames the movie has are good to eye. Editing is  worst. Coming on the work of  director Vishavak Khanderao, he takes way too much time to establish the various stories in the film.

Analysis: Though the story of Skylab is unique, but it ends as a painful watch.
