Peddanna Movie Review: Kollywood superstar Rajinikanth, Keerthy Suresh and Nayanthara starrer Peddanna has finally arrived at the theaters today on the occasion of Diwali. Let’s see the story of Peddanna.

Story: Veeranna (Rajinikanth)  is the village president, who loves his sister Kanakam (Keerthi Suresh). He can go to any extent for her. One fine day, he fixes his sister  marriage, and right on the wedding day, she elopes. After six moneths, Veeranna finds out that Kanakam is in Kolkotta and is facing the problems. Why does Kanakam  elopes and why is she in Kolkatta? What is her problem? And how does Veeranna save her? To get these answers, one should watch the movie Peddanna on the silver screen.

 Plus points:

  • Performance
  • Rajinikanth

 Minus Points:

  • Story
  • Overdose  of action episodes
  • Lack of emotions
  • Second half
  • Narration

Performance: Once again Rajinikanth has proved that he is a wonderful performer. He has delivered electrifying performance.  Keerthy Suresh in the role of Rajini’ sister, gets a meaty role and she also does good job.  Nayanthara who is playing the female lead, doesn’t have to do much. Khushboo and Meena make a  comeback into this film as potential partners for  Superstar Rajinikanth, with their characters playing into rural, caste-benefitting traditions of marrying within family. Rest of the cast are ok.

Technical: Coming on the work of  director,  he brings a routine and predictable storyline. The  narration is dull and it has huge disappointment when to comes to handling  the emotions, including humor. The brother and sister bond lacks focus in the second half.  The background score, action choreography are the attractions on the technical front. The cinematography is amazing, and editing is just ok.

Analysis:  Peddanna is built around the brother- and  bond, a protector-victim relationship in a sense that exists between Veeranna  and Kanakam.
