The film maker Vamsi Paidipally has already confirmed his next project with Tamil actor Vijay in a recent media interaction. He has confirmed that they will be joining hands for a Telugu-Tamil bilingual project, tentatively titled Thalapathy 66. This upcoming project will mark Vijay’s foray into Telugu market. Vamsi’ directorial venture will be the first time he will be starring in a bilingual project. Now the reports are coming that Vijay has accepted the project which is rejected by Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu.
It is known that in the past Mahesh Babu and Vamsi Paidipally have collaborated for national award-winning social drama Maharshi. After the release of the movie, they were in the talk of another project.
However, Mahesh Babu turned down the project as he did not like the story narrated by Vamsi. After a couple of failed attempts, Vamsi Paidipally took the story he had penned for Mahesh Babu and narrated it to Vijay. He made some changes to the script to suit the sensibilities of other language audiences and also redesigned Mahesh Babu’ characterization to suit Vijay’ image. Vijay who was impressed with his character and the theme of the film, gave his green signal.
According to the latest buzz, Vijay is getting a remuneration of Rs 100 Cr for this project which is bankrolled by Dil Raju.
