BCCI- The Board of Control for Cricket in India has suspended the 14th edition of IPL- Indian Premier League 2021 amid cases of  Coronavirus.

The Board of Control for Cricket  stated that the Indian Premier League Governing Council  and Board of Control for BCCI  in an emergency meeting has decided to postpone IPL- Indian Premier League 2021 season, with immediate effect. The Board of Control for Cricket  does not want to compromise on the safety of players, staff  and the other participants involved in organizing the IPL. This decision was taken keeping the safety, and wellbeing of all the stakeholders in mind.

BCCI will reschedule the remaining games of the T20 league later.

BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla confirmed tournament suspension for this season due  to the growing concerns over the Coronavirus pandemic.

It is known news that several players like SRH’s Amit Mishra, Wriddhiman Saha, Varun Chakravarthy, Sandeep Warrier, CSK’s bowling coach L Balaji, and a bus cleaner have tested positive for the coronavirus.

Coronavirus pandemic has brought world to a standstill as more than twenty lakh people have been infected by the Covid-19 virus while over one  lakh people have succumbed globally. USA,  Spain, and Italy are among the worst hit countries by the Coronavirus pandemic.
