According to the latest update, Malayalam director and advertisement film maker Shrikumar Menon has been arrested by Alappuzha Police in a cheating case. The director received Rs 7 Cr from Rajendran Pillai of Sreevalsam Group for a film, which didn’t materialise.
Odiyan film maker Shrikumar Menon was held based on a complaint filed by Rajendran Pillai, who belongs to Sreevalsam business group. Rajendran Pillai filed a complaint against Shrikumar over the money transactions that took place between the 2006 to present.
As per the complain, Shrikumar had received Rs 7 crore from Rajendran Pillai for a movie, which did not go on the floor. So Rajendran Pillai approached the police and lodged a complaint against Shrikumar Menon.
The director’ arrest was made after the district court rejected an anticipatory bail moved by VA Shrikumar Menon in the cheating case that was filed by the group for duping them of on the pretext of producing a movie.
Director VA Shrikumar Menon was booked under Section 420of the IPC.
VA Shrikumar Menon had been arrested in the year 2019 for allegedly defaming actress Manju Warrier on social media.
The film maker VA Shrikumar Menon has directed more than 400 commercials for the various brands.
