Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya Movie Review: Satyadev Kancharana and Hari Chandana starrer Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya, directed by Venkatesh Maha  is available on Netflix and let’s see  the story of this film

Story: Mahesh (Satyadev) is an epitome of simplicity and is shown doing daily chores. He is a photographer and takes photographs for livelihood.  Though  he does not like getting into fights, but  gets involved in a petty fight and gets trashed by Jogi. He is insulted in his town and in the front of his hometown people. Mahesh decides to take revenge on Jogi. But in this process, he falls in love with Jyothi (Roopa Koduvayur), who is the sister of Jogi. What happens next? How  does Mahesh take the revenge? Form rest of the story of Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya.

 Plus Points:

  • Satyadev
  • Performance
  • Direction
  • BGM

 Minus Points:

  • Slow Pace
  • Few Unnecessary scenes
  • Simple Climax

Performance:  Satyadev has given his fantastic performance in this film Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya.  His body language, expressions in emotional scenes, is top-notch. His performance in interval scene, break up episode and climax are natural. Hari Chandana  and Roopa Koduvayur who play the leading ladies, have got solidity of writing in their characters which give their characters complexity and depth that is rarely found these days. Both illuminate the film with their performances.  Senior actor Naresh is amazing as Bajbji. Rest of the cast of Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya perform accordingly.

Technical: Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya is not a regular revenge thriller. The screenplay, for most part, keeps the viewers guessing, albeit gleefully.  It is remake of  Malayalam film Maheshinte Prathikaaram. The script languidly proceeds to show the lifestyle of the people in and around the township. The plot is driven by characters and there is no solid form of story where we see a growth in characters or logical progression in the story of this film.  The music by Bijibal, is excellent and sets up the mood of the movie. The cinematography by Appu Prabhakar is top notch.

Analysis: Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya is the  sweetest tale of revenge. Packaged with delightful humor, endearing romance, crisp stunts, charming music and an engaging screenplay.
