India lockdown extended for two more weeks

The lockdown in our country India has been extended beyond 4 May for another 2 weeks. New guidelines, update  India’ designated red, green and orange zoning system. Red zones are considered hotspots.

India has been under lockdown measures since 24th March, with more than 35,000 covid-19 cases confirmed nationally. The ongoing Lockdown will be ended by 3rd May. Since the extension is confirmed for two more weeks, the Lockdown period will be continued for 54 days upto 17th May.

At least 1,100 are known to have died from the Corona virus in India, but many believe the true number of infections and coronavirus deaths is far higher than what has been reported.

India’s lockdown is impacting a population of 1.3 billion people.

The union government has divided India into red, orange and green zones. Many relaxations have been given to green zones whereas the people at orange zones can avail permitted relaxations. Even the people at red zones areas can make use a few relaxations.

The  private companies have also been allowed to start the work but with 33 % of their strength in the workplace. The restaurants, malls, Hotels, cinema halls, and gyms will also continue to remain closed apart from places of worship.
