5 Air India pilots tested positive for Coronavirus

5 pilots of Air India, 1 engineer, and a technician have been tested +ive for the Coronavirus today during the pre-flight COVID-19 test. The pilots had operated one of cargo flights to Guangzhou. Ever since the lockdown, Air India has been operating cargo flights outside the country in order to rescue the stranded Indians including Italy and Iran.

 5  pilots, who had undertaken cargo flights to China, have tested +ive for covid-19. It is being heard that all 5  pilots are currently asymptomatic and are based in Mumbai. They have been operating Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The last time any of them operated a flight was on 20th April.

All the 5 pilots were detected after 77 pilots of the airline were tested for the Coronavirus on priority basis.

The Pilots have been the latest section of frontline workers to be hit by the deadly virus Corona.

It is said that Air India has taken precautionary measures to ensure the safety of its crew members in Manhattan NewYork.

More than 500 security forces personnel have also been infected by Coronavirus. Around 200 personnel of the Border Security Force also tested +ive and  majority of them are from  Delhi.

Two BSF jawans and a Delhi Police personnel who were infected with Coronavirus died last week.
