Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter, has said he will donate $1 billion, to the Coronavirus global relief fund, in the battle against the covid-19 pandemic. Jack Dorsey took to twitter and made a series of post and said it’s important to show his work so others can learn.
On Wednesday Jack Dorsey, 43, announced to set aside $1 billion from his equity in his financial services and mobile payment company Square to support global relief efforts towards COVID-19.
Mr Jack Dorsey joins a growing list of celebrities, world leaders and technologists who are contributing some portion of their wealth to fighting the spread of the coronavirus and its effects.
The founder of Square and Twitter- Mr Jack Dorsey said he was contributing nearly a third of his total wealth to relief programs related to the Covid-19, coronavirus. This is one of the more significant efforts by a tech billionaire to fight the Coronavirus pandemic.
Few days ago, Amazon chief executive Mr Jeff Bezos said he would cotribute $100 million to American food banks through a nonprofit, Feeding America.
The covid-19 is affecting 209 countries around the world. Globally, on 8th April 2020, there have been 1,282,931 confirmed cases of coronavirus including 72,776 deaths.
