Kollywood superstar Rajinikanth is currently basking in the glory of his recent offering Darbar, directed by AR Murugadoss, which is running successfully at the box office and doing superb collections. According to the latest update, a case has been filed against Rajinikanth. Recently Rajinikanth said during an event that the idols of God Ram and Sita were paraded in an offensive way, and now a case has been filed against the actor by the president of Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam.
On Friday, the Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam submitted a petition to Coimbatore City Commissioner of Police Sumit Sharan, seeking action against Rajinikanth. According to Mani, who is the president of Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam, Rajinikanth’ claims were not true. He accused Rajinikanth of propagating a false information about a 1971 rally to ‘defame’ social reformer EV Ramasamy ‘Periyar’, a Dravidian outfit in Tamil Nadu has demanded an unconditional apology and filed police complaints seeking action against Kollywood superstar.
Mani had filed the complaint while demanding a public apology from Superstar Rajinikanth. A FIR has been filed under Section 153 and Section 505 of Indian Penal Code. The party has requested Coimbatore commissioner of police to initiate action against him
In Chennai, Rajinikanth had said, “In the year 1971, at Salem, Periyar took out a rally in which undressed images of Lord Sri Ramachandramoorthy and Sita, with a garland of sandal, featured and no news outlet published it.”
On the work front, Rajinikanth was last seen in Darbar which also has Nayantara, Nivetha Thomas, Suniel Shetty and Yogi Babu in key roles. Rajinikanth played the role of a cop in this action drama, which has the music by Anirudh Ravichander. The makers of the film had recently lodged a complaint against a local cable TV operator in Madurai for airing the pirated version of Darbar in their Television channel.
