It’s a known fact to everyone that current Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is stuck in the illegal assets case. Now, from the latest update, it was known that the CBI court has turned down Jagan’s plea that reads an exemption of his personal appearance in the court during the hearings. The cases were on a bunch of things like the illegal investments in the businesses, land dealing and many others during the reign of his late father and former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Rajasekhar Reddy in the years 2004-2009.
In his petition Jagan cited the reasons as him being a chief minister of the state, he would be having several responsibilities which would be stopping him for his appearance in the court. Jagan further cited the reasons saying, it is not only the security reasons that are involved in traveling back and forth from Amravati to Hyderabad but also strictly disturbs his duties as CM of AP and it also costs a whopping up to Rs 60 lakh for his traveling and security.
However, this doesn’t end here, on the other side CBI counsel fought against the Jagan lawyer’s argument stating non-appearance of Jagan in the court will give him the liberty to manipulate the witnesses with his political power and money at any instance and time. Now, from the updated report it seems to be Jagan Mohan Reddy should be present in CBI court every Friday for hearing in regards to the cases that were filed on him.
All this began during the year of 2011 in which several cases were filed on current AP CM for possessing illegal assets whilst his father Rajasekhar Reddy as the CM of AP. Jagan was sent to jail in the year 2012 and spent the jail term for 15 months. As the time was rolled out, he was released on bail in September 2013.
