Sarileru Neekevvaru is an upcoming Telugu film in which Telugu Superstar Mahesh Babu and Kannada beauty Rashmika Mandanna are playing the lead roles. The film will see Mahesh Babu plays the role of an Army Major where the stills of which have already been released and appreciated across the segments. It is known news that the makers of Sarileru Neekevvaru flew to Kashmir’s picturesque locations and shot a certain part of the film before the revocation of Article 370. Recently the producer of Sarileru Neekevvaru interacted with media and revealed that Mahesh Babu shot amid bullet proof security in their recently concluded Kashmir schedule, just ahead of the Article 370 announcement.
Anil Sunkara opened up about how Sarileru Neekevvaru’ unit was supposed to shoot at Pahalgam. Anil Sunkara said, “ The film unit was informed that for security reasons no one was supposed to shoot on the Pahalgam–Srinagar road from 10 am to 5 pm.
They had faced difficulty in obtaining the permissions for shooting of Sarileru Neekevvaru at the border. Central Home Minister Rajnath Singh helped us to get the permission. We applied for bulletproof security for Mahesh Babu, and he could reach Pahalgam for the shoot because he was escorted by the security. But as they did not allow the vans of our production crew, we couldn’t shoot from Day 1.”
Anil Sunkara added that after wrapping up the shoot in Pahalgam, the film unit came to Srinagar for a few days. Incidentally, it was a day after the film unit landed in Hyderabad that the announcement of abrogating Article 370 was made by Modi- government.
On the otherside, recently in an interview, Maharshi star Mahesh Babu has said, “I’ve shot for my films at varied domestic locations and even abroad, but somehow I never got the chance to shoot in the ‘Kashmir’. We had a wonderful time shooting there. Looking forward to go there again.”
