Is the Telangana government all set to a liquor ban?

From the close parties, it was known that the Telangana government gearing up to take a huge move over the liquor business in the state. Sources spilled the beans saying, the government may take over all the liquor businesses instead of giving the licenses. On the other hand, government officials strongly opposing the government before it takes this move over the liquor business.

It was known that officials have warned CM KCR as the sudden liquor move may raise unnecessary revenue issues. To be more clear, the current excise policy will be ending by this month-end and whereas, the new excise policy has to come into force from October 1st. At this point in time, the state government has to call for new applications bidding for retail liquor outlets, In between this, if the government takes any resolution, then it will directly impact the revenue generated from it. Reports read Telangana govt earns around `400 crores through application fee and `1,000 crores through the license fee. On whole, a whopping of 1400 crores would be in trouble in case of any liquor ban of new resolution towards liquor.

A thought of resolution in liquor was believed to be started, post-KCR having a prolonged meet with AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy recently. However, there is no official confirmation on anything.
