From the past few weeks, rape allegations of a law student over BJP’s swami Chinmayanand have been standing as the headline breaker. Now, from the latest update, it was known that Priyanka Gandhi, the daughter of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi has slammed the BJP government over the former Union Minister Swami Chinmayanand’s rape case.
She asserted that the entire administration is trying extremely hard to protect the Chinmayanand. Priyanka Gandhi took her views to her social networking platform Twitter saying, “Just about a year ago, many administrative officials of Shahjahanpur were seen performing aarti of Chinmayanand. The matter was raised in newspapers”.
The Congress general secretary in-charge UP East further posted that “Rape case was not filed despite the rape victim narrating her ordeal. How would it have been filed? When the whole administration was embracing and protecting him”.
Currently the victim, the law student has been booked under the extortion charges and sent to 14-day judicial custody. Whereas, the rape accused Chinmayanand has been sent to judicial custody post his arrest and has been booked under the section 376C of Indian Penal Code(IPC) which is considered as the less charge for the punishment of rape.
