After delivering successful movie Mahanati, the biopic of South Indian legendary actress Savitri, actress Keerthy Suresh did not sign any Telugu movie. Though the actress was active in Kollywood, and was last seen in Vijay starrer Sarkar which was blockbuster at the box office. Now according to the latest update, Keerthi Suresh has signed a Telugu project.
The upcoming women centric drama starring Keerthy Suresh will be helmed National Award-winning filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor of the “Hyderabad blues” and “Iqbal” fame, and bankrolled by Sudheer Chandra on Worth A Short Arts. Apart from Keerthy Suresh, the film will also have other stars like Jagapathi Babu, Aadhi Pinisetty, Rahul Ramakrishna is lead roles. The shoot of the film has been already started.
Touted to be a sports-romedy, the upcoming sport based drama will be shot extensively in Hyderabad and Pune. Sensational music composer Devi Sri Prasad is on the board to render the tune and the background score. The makers are planning to release the film in the month of September in Telugu and Tamil languages.
The industry tracker Taran Adarsh has also confirmed the news of Keerthy Suresh starrer project via a tweet, “IT’S OFFICIAL… Nagesh Kukunoor directs his first #Telugu film [not titled yet], a sports-romedy… Stars Keerthy Suresh, Aadhi Pinisetty and Jagapathi Babu… Filming has begun in #Vikarabad and #Pune… Produced by Sudheer Chandra… Music by DSP… Sept 2019 release.”
Recently during the media interaction, Nagesh Kukunoor said, “I am excited about venturing into the Telugu film industry with upcoming movie but is also “terrified” It’s my mother tongue but I never learned to read and write in Telugu.”
Nagesh Kukunoor has currently helmed the upcoming Hotstar Special City of Dreams. The web series, presented by Applause Entertainment, starring Priya Bapat, Eijaz Khan, Sachin Pilgaonkar.
On the other side, currently Keerthy Suresh is also busy in her upcoming Malayalam movie Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham.
