All eyes are on Yatra! The movie, based on the late Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh YS Rajasekhar Reddy, is gearing up for grand release on 8th February. According to the latest buzz, the demand for Yatra tickets are very high. A hardcore fan of YSR surprised everyone by purchasing a single ticket of Yatra for a whopping $ 6,116 (Rs 4.37 lakhs) at an auction in Seattle, US. The fan of YSR, named Munishwar Reddy, brought the first ticket of Yatra for Rs 4.37 lakhs in a bid. The sources say that makers of Yatra have decided to donate the fund generated through this auction to YSR Foundation
Directed by Mahi V Raghav, Malayalam superstar Mammootty will be seen essaying the role of YSR in this film. Yatra has already completed the censor formalities and received U certificate without any cut. Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devireddy are bankrolling this biographical project under the banner of 70 MM entertainment.
Recently during the media interaction, Mammootty opened up about Yatra and said, “Yatra has a proper role which is why I am doing it. Mahi V Raghav is only two-films-old, but I have worked with absolute newcomers. I have introduced more than 70 directors, and out of them more than 70 percent are still working in Kollywood and Mollywood. The advantage of working with new directors is that they will have something new to tell. “
Mammootty added that it is impossible to narrate the complete history of a person in two hours. Yatra isn’t a biopic but an event-based film, where some important events in YSR’s life are chronicle. YSR is a legend. It’s an eventful story with a mix of reality and fiction.”
Jagapathi Babu, and Anausya Bharadwaj are playing the supporting roles in Yatra.
Yatra makers have thanked all the fans who attended the auction event in the US.
