NTR (Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao)’s grand son Hitesh Chenchuram has expressed his desire to contest on YSRCP ticket.
The eldest son-in-law of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NT Rama Rao Daggubati Venkateswara Rao and his son Hitesh Chenchuram had met YSR Congress President YS Jaganmohan Reddy at his Lotus Pond home in Hyderabad recently and expressed their desire to join the party.
Hitesh Chenchuram, the son of BJP leader D Purandeswari, formally joined the YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s YSR Congress on Monday.
Daggubati Venkateswara Rao retired from active politics in 2014. Purandeswari, who was a Union minister in the Manmohan Singh cabinet, quit the Congress to join the BJP after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh in 2014. The couple is going pave way for the political entry of their son, Hitesh Chenchuram
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s brother-in-law Venkateswara Rao, said to the reporters that the meeting with Jagan Mohan Reddy was successful. His son Hitesh wanted to contest the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections on a YSR Congress ticket.
He further said that Jagan Mohan Reddy assured him that his son Hitesh Chenchuram would be given a YSR Congress ticket.
About Purandeswari, he said that she hasn’t planning to switch sides and would continue with the BJP.
